OH finally dismantled what remained of the greenhouse today ... the plot looks much bigger, but so empty without it :( :(
Wonder if anyone can make use of it or whether I should just take it to the tip. At least it doesn't take up much space :(
The hedge bonfire pile is ridiculous - there are now 4 enormous piles ... taking up almost a quarter of the plot !! Hope it's dry enough to burn next weekend.
Hasn't it any scrap metal value?
ReplyDeleteDON'T go to a tip. Find a scrap metal merchant (yellow pages).
ReplyDeleteA friend recently took the remains of a caravan to our local metal dealer (aluminium mostly) and got £125 for it.
LOL, totally clueless ! right, will find out about taking it to a scrap merchant :)
ReplyDeleteAnd always remember what I learnt when repairing holes in rusty old car bodywork - you've gotta make it worse (ie, make the hole bigger by cutting back to bare metal) before you can make it better. Dismantling the greenhouse has made it worse; now you can start to make it better.
ReplyDeleteSorry, simple moralising tales r us!
Just don't do your back in lugging it about!
ReplyDeleteScrap merchant you say? Took the remains of mine in down Malin Bridge last year and got the princely sum of £19 for it!
ReplyDeleteI spent half that on a jigsaw bit to cut it up to get it in the car prior to that... Couldn't help but wonder why the scrappies bother to go to the effort of nicking the stuff.
Still if you need to cut it up, give me a shout ;)
